Strong wind gusts knocked down several trees across the state, officials say.

Wind gusts leave trees, powerlines down across state roadways
Powerful wind gusts knocked down several trees across the state leaving roads closed and property damaged, officials say.
One tree took out powerlines on Compo Road in Westport before landing across the roadway.
Officials shutdown part of the road as a result.
A tree also fell on Cross Highway in Westport where part of the road was also blocked off.
Utility crews in Easton worked to clear downed powerlines on Rockhouse Road.  In Redding, a large branch fell across wires just above the street. 
Bridgeport saw many trees and branches fall including a tree that fell onto a car on Bishop Street.
