A seal was spotted on Sasco Beach in Fairfield.

Seal spotted on Sasco Beach in Fairfield
A seal was spotted on Sasco Beach in Fairfield.
The rare sight was first reported Wednesday by a woman who was out walking her dog.
The seal appeared to be a young calf and it was sunning itself about 50 to 75 feet from the water's edge.
 Fairfield Animal Control, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and officials from Mystic Aquarium were on site to observe the seal.
