Police are searching for five men accused of robbing, assaulting and slashing a 39-year-old victim in his Belmont home.

Investigators say the men knocked on the victim’s door around midnight on May 17 near Washington Avenue and East 183 Street.

They say that when the victim opened the door, the group attacked him – slashing him across the torso and stealing his cellphone.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to be OK.

News 12 is told that all five men are believed to be in their mid-20s.
