A missing New Canaan woman feared for her life during an ongoing divorce, court documents reveal.
Jennifer Dulos, 50, of New Canaan was last seen on Friday morning and reported missing around 7:30 p.m.
Police say they found her 2017 black Chevrolet Suburban Friday night near Waveny Park.
State and local police combed the park Wednesday, but turned up no sign of Dulos.
Officials were back at the the park Thursday searching for clues in the the woman's sudden disappearance.
According to court documents filed back in 2017, she was going through a divorce from husband Fotis Dulos.
Dulos formerly lived in Farmington but moved to New Canaan with her family.
The estranged couple was scheduled to appear in a Stamford courtroom for a hearing this week.
Court documents show Dulos filed for an emergency order for full custody of her children in 2017.
Dulos is quoted in the documents as saying, "I am afraid of my husband. I know that filing for divorce and filing this motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way.”
According to court documents, her husband's attorney says he has never exhibited any irrational, unsafe, bullying or threatening behavior.
Court documents also reveal Dulos' family hired an armed guard to watch over her children.
"Jennifer is an incredibly gentle and kind and gracious and wonderful person and she loves her children dearly," says Carrie Luft, a family spokesperson.
Family and friends say because of the kids, Dulos would never disappear.
News 12 is told that the five children are staying with Dulos' mom.
Fotis Dulos has filed an emergency court order asking they be returned to him.
There was a prayer vigil for Dulos  at St. Aloysius Parish in New Canaan in concert with other New Canaan houses of worship Thursday.
