Police in Toms River are searching for the people seen throwing kittens out of a car onto Route 70.

Police in Toms River are searching for the people seen throwing kittens out of a car onto Route 70.
The incident happened Saturday around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Ave.
According to witnesses, the passenger of a vehicle threw two kittens onto the road.
Witnesses say one of the kittens was immediately run over by another vehicle and died.
The second kitten was rescued, but eventually ran off into the woods.
Police describe the vehicle as an older model, faded red Pathfinder, with black roof racks.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Grosse at 732-349-0150.
