Connecticut Republicans are sticking with their leader for the next two years.

J.R. Romano held onto his job Tuesday night as party chairman in spite of the party's big losses in the 2018 elections.
Romano faced criticism for 2018, when Bob Stefanowski lost a hard-fought race for governor and Republicans lost many seats in both houses of the General Assembly.
"It was a tough fight," said Romano. "I mean, Bob was, there's no ifs, ands about it, that he was under-funded. He was raising money in late August, which is a difficult place to be in."
