Thunderstorms to continue into tonight, improvements on the way
While the worst may be behind us, a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Long Island until 9 p.m.
Heavy rain and lightning are most likely, but gusty winds and hail are possible, say News 12 meteorologists.
Humidity is expected to drop by Thursday, and the sunshine will return. Expect a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the mid-80s..
Other than a chance of some showers Saturday afternoon, the weekend is shaping up nicely.
