The Annual Interfaith Walk and Breakfast was held in Highbridge Sunday in light of National HIV Awareness Day.
The Muslim Women's Institute for Research and Development says colorful condoms and HIV testing are two tools its using in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Organizers say holding a breakfast and walk helps bring the community together to spread awareness on how prevalent the disease is in the Bronx and hwo to prevent it.
They say there has never been a major change in the world without the work of a faith organization, and they're hoping to especially make a difference in the Bronx, which has the highest numbers of HIV and AIDS.
Organizers say they're hoping that those in attendance take what they learned and spread that knowledge throughout the community.
