A Peekskill father was tearfully reunited with his family Monday after he had had been detained by ICE.
Manuel Zhinin was held by immigration officials for two years after he failed to appear in court for a check-in.
But last week, a federal judge ruled Zhinin had provided an updated address to immigration officials and that he never received an order to appear in court.
Immigration advocates say Zhinin's case is now being reopened. "Today is a day of relief, of hope, of the renewed hope, and our struggle," says immigrant advocate Luis Yumbla.
For now, Zhinin says he is going to spend time with his family.
