A man who police say made threats against Stamford Hospital employees weeks ago was taken into custody Friday following a brief standoff with law enforcement officials.
The incident happened outside of the suspect's home on Creeping Hemlock Drive in Norwalk around 11 a.m.
The man was identified as Joseph Sander.
Police say they received a 911 call from a woman who told them Sander was threatening her inside the home with a knife.
Police quickly responded to the scene and blocked off the road and did not allow traffic through.
Neighbors say it's the second time in a month that they have seen police called to the home.
Sander was taken into custody without incident through a crisis negotiator and police have since re-opened the road and cleared the scene.
Sander is expected to be charged, police say.
