The scariest attraction in New Milford, the Nightmare on River Road haunted house, will be back soon.
Billed as Bergen County's premier haunted attraction, the haunted house will open its doors Oct. 4.
More than 100 volunteers, including set builders, contractors, electricians, and landscapers, helped transform the house at 854 River Road into an 8,500-square-foot attraction with several rooms attendees are led through.
Ticket proceeds will be donated to local Boy Scout troops.

The haunted house is open Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 4 to 8 p.m. in October.

The house is located behind the Brookchester stores.
Tickets cost $20 at the door and online at nightmareonriverroad.com.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
