A man was found with a gunshot wound on Madison Street in Mastic.
Police officers were called to the scene at around 11 p.m. Thursday.
News 12 is told that a 28-year-old was found with a bullet wound to the leg.
The victim was taken to Long Island Community Hospital with an injury that is not life-threatening.
The suspect fled the scene in a blue van, police say.
