Two more people have filed lawsuits in which they claim a now-deceased Orange County priest sexually abused them when they were children.
Father George Boxelaar was the family priest at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Middletown. But now decades after his death, he faces multiple lawsuits by former altar boys.
The latest was brought up by two men under New York's Child Victims Act, who claim Boxelaar sexually abused them back in the 1970s and '80s.
The lawsuits claim the church ignored multiple complaints against Boxelaar and put children at risk. The lawsuits also allege there are at least 30 victims who've come forward with the same accusations of sex abuse against him.
Boxelaar served for three decades before his death overseas in 1990.
A representative for Holy Cross Church referred News 12's questions to the archdiocese but has not yet heard back.
The window to file suit under the Child Victims Act closes Aug. 14, 2020.
